What the SAP evaluation fee covers
The SAP fee covers your initial clinical assessment, the written recommendation issued to your employer's DER, the follow-up evaluation after you complete the recommended program, and the written follow-up testing plan.
What's billed separately
- The education or treatment program your SAP recommends — billed by that provider.
- Your directly-observed return-to-duty drug or alcohol test — arranged and paid for by your employer.
- Follow-up tests during the testing plan — arranged and paid for by your employer.
Why pricing isn't a single number
The SAP fee itself is predictable. The total return-to-duty cost depends almost entirely on the recommendation: a brief education program is inexpensive; intensive outpatient treatment is significantly more. We're transparent about this at scheduling so you can plan.
Insurance, payment plans, and timing
Some commercial behavioral-health plans reimburse SAP evaluations; many don't. Education and treatment programs are more commonly covered. We offer payment plans so the cost isn't a reason to delay — every week you delay is a week you can't drive, fly, or operate.
